Ben Bleier
Tech Delivery Lead · Founder & Editor of Convex
Ben Alexander Bleier is the founder of Convex and the human responsible for editorial quality across the site. By background he is a Tech Delivery Lead, and has traded with his own capital since 2015 across equities, crypto, and macro instruments. He is not a CFA charterholder, not a former hedge-fund analyst, and not a registered investment adviser. Convex was built after years of watching retail traders like himself pay institutional prices for data that should be free.
The analysis on every page is generated by the Convex Research Desk — an AI editorial system instrumented with quality gates, fabrication validators, and proprietary-data density checks. Ben designs those gates, audits the output, and signs off on what gets published. The numbers on every page are verified against primary sources (FRED, ICE BofA, CME, EIA, CFTC) on the date shown — and tracked by series ID so anyone can replicate them.
Experience
I have traded with my own capital since 2015, across equities, crypto, and macro instruments. That is the experience that drives every product decision on Convex. I built this platform because I wanted institutional-quality data and analysis at a price retail traders can afford, and I could not find it.
Professionally I am a Tech Delivery Lead, with the software, data engineering, and product background needed to build a system like Convex from primary sources rather than scraping or rewriting other people's analysis. Every page on this site traces its numbers back to primary sources (FRED, ICE BofA, CME, EIA, CFTC), with series IDs surfaced so anyone can replicate the data themselves.

What I am not
I am not a CFA charterholder, not a former hedge-fund analyst, and not a registered investment adviser. The analysis on Convex is generated by an AI editorial system instrumented with quality gates; my job is to design those gates, audit the output, and stand behind what gets published. Convex publishes research, not investment advice. If a specific article needs domain credentialing beyond what primary data sources can supply, that limitation is disclosed in the article.
Editorial responsibility
Every article on Convex is co-attributed: the Convex Research Desk (the AI editorial system) is the writer, and I am the editor. That distinction is a real one — I oversee the prompt design, quality gates, fabrication validators, and proprietary-data density checks that determine which drafts get published. I read every published article. Mistakes get logged in the corrections record and fixed in the same place readers found them.
The numbers on every page trace back to primary sources (FRED series IDs, ICE BofA OAS, CME settlement, EIA inventories, CFTC Commitments of Traders). Series IDs are surfaced on every page so anyone can replicate the data themselves.
